This 2 1/2 to 7 NST by 3 inch portable hydrant backflow preventer with a GPM meter is designed to accurately measure the flow and protect the water supply from possible contaminations. It is ideal for protection where the flow is in one direction and the possibility of cross-connection exists, such as on an existing hydrant hookup or other non-permanent installation. It prevents the reverse backflow through the fire hydrant of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements. It consists of a stainless steel body, NST fire hose coupling, test cocks, built-in leg, gate valve, stainless steel bottom mounted relief valve, and torsion spring check valves. Its portable design is made to transport between job sites and will provide long-term service with minimal maintenance.
